I really need to fix them up. I've never heard of using crushed crackers with them. I make them exactly like I do fried squash.

I remember the movie title, but not the movie itself.Melodyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15046770101176634067noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8913587525785298444.post-72830127641004255832008-09-09T12:02:00.000-05:002008-09-09T12:02:00.000-05:00How awesome! So I'll have to try them :)Koreyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13169767757479816137noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8913587525785298444.post-59409036938775042162008-09-09T03:49:00.000-05:002008-09-09T03:49:00.000-05:00I absolutely love fried green tomatoes. The movie is pretty good. :)Adrianhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/18423573087657837128noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8913587525785298444.post-60971274437794197042008-09-08T17:13:00.000-05:002008-09-08T17:13:00.000-05:00The film is not one of my favorites, but the scene...The film is not one of my favorites, but the scene in the parking lot, featuring Miss Kathy Bates, whom I adore, is perhaps the best scene in the film. Try equal amounts of flour and corn meal. Actually, I probably use two parts corn meal to one part flour. I also use obscene amounts of freshly ground black pepper. Lawry's Seasoned Salt is also a good ingredient. You're right about slicing the tomatoes thinly. The fried green tomatoes on offer at J. Henry's are good, but I do not like the sauce. Actually, I don't believe fried green tomatoes require any sauce. For a special treat, fry the tomatoes in bacon grease (or at least add some bacon grease to the oil).Joe Kellynoreply@blogger.com
